The Association of Ontario Snowboarders was incorporated in 1998 to function as the Sport Governing Body for snowboarding in Ontario. The AOS sanctions, monitors and assists all competitive snowboarding programs in the province. The mission of the AOS is to govern the sport of competitive snowboarding in Ontario through the development of snowboard athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers from the grassroots level to the elite level of competition. Recognized as the Provincial Body by the Canadian Snowboard Federation, and the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion, it is the goal of the AOS to lead and coordinate the safe development and growth of the sport of snowboarding in Ontario.
 

Team Manager (6 month Position) - 2011 Canada Winter Games

 
The Canada Winter Games Team Manager will directly oversee the 2011 Canada Winter Games Team in the Halfpipe, Parallel Giant Slalom and Snowboard Cross disciplines. The Cananda Winter Games will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, February 21-27 2011. It is the Team Manager’s primary responsibility to liaise between the Canada Games Mission Staff and the AOS, coaches, athletes and parents to ensure effective planning leading up the games and provide support to the coaches and athletes at the Games.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with high performance athletes
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to take initiative, solve problems and manage time effectively
The candidate will be responsible for communication on an on-going basis with Team Ontario’s Mission Staff leading up to the Canada Games, ensuring effective communication with athletes, coaches and parents of the Canada Games Team, ensuring Team uniforms are fit to athletes and distributed, ensuring that all travel plans and reservations are carried forth for the Canada Games athletes and coaches, providing support to Ontario athletes and coaches at the Canada Games and effectively review and make recommendations for future games.
